Last week when I was in LA for the #JungleBookEvent I visited the set of Disney XD’s Walk The Prank. We met with the cast Brandon Serves who plays “Dusty”, Bryce Gheisar who plays “Herman”, Jillian Shea Spaeder stars who plays as Bailey, and Tobie Windham who plays Uncle Will. I am going to share with you the photos I took while on set and also while on the lot of the production studios. I will give you some quick insight on how these kids are able to create these hilarious episodes and somehow fit in a Rock, Paper, Scissors game.
If you don’t know much about the show here is a some quick info and video for you to look at. An innovative new format that blends scripted comedy with real hidden-camera pranks, Walk the Prank follows a team of practical jokesters who create hilarious over-the- top pranks for an online hidden camera show of the same name.
The series showcases the natural comedic talent and improvisational skills of new young stars including Cody Veith (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, Dawn) as the cool, confident Chance, Bryce Gheisar (A Dog’s Purpose)as Chance younger brother Herman, Jillian Shea Spaeder (Theatre and Mes the Bully) as the tech-savvy Bailey, Brandon Severs (The Neighbors) as Chance’s best friend Dusty, and Tobie Windham (The Wesley’s) as Will, Dusty’s uncle.
The scripted storylines center on the four kids antics in school and at home, which provide a source of inspiration for their pranks. The real and outlandish hidden-camera pranks, seen throughout each episode, capture genuine reactions from unsuspecting strangers.
Once we walked on set we were ushered into a room where we were able to watch the filming of one of the episodes of Disney XD’s Walk The Prank. This was such a great opportunity for us to see the filming process of any show and how much work it actually takes to create these episodes. Something that I loved to take from the show was that once the camera’s had been properly placed and the actors were ready, after they filmed each take of one episode (which took about 5-8 times when we were watching).
Although these kids are professional actors and are very serious once ACTION has been called, in between each take they made the kids would play rock, paper scissors. It really made me smile when I saw this because we always wonder how kids are able to act under these circumstances and if they still are able to hold on to their playful side of being a child. Seeing that definitely, let me know that they aren’t missing much of anything even when on set.
While on set we were able to pick Tobie Windhams brain about what it was like to film with a cast of kids and as well what it was like to punk unknowing people. During out quick chat Tobie let us know that the “marks” weren’t so as much random people but someone whom their friend or family member set up. A question was asked about how people handled being punked at the end and he let us know he came up with a fun way of knowing if that person was okay or mad. Tobie Windham said that he would always ask for a high 5 at the end of the job and if they gave him a high 5 it meant they were okay and they are able to laugh along with everyone. He did mention one person who was not so willing to give him a high 5 at first but eventually was able to smile and laugh and give him one before they left.
In between a scene we actually managed to snag a group photo of Cody Veith who stars as Chance, as well as Tobie Windham who stars as Uncle Will in uncle Will’s Joke Shop. It was so much fun to see them both in person as well as feel the funny vibes they put off while they are just hanging out. Visiting the set was so much fun and we loved being able to see the Joke Shop in person. It’s so big and has so many fun things in it. The Dog costume which you will be able to see one of the stars wear in the first episode of Walk The Prank was hanging on the wall next to the door we walked out of.
I’m definitely logging this adventure in my memory bank and keeping these photos somewhere safe. I mean whenever are you going to be able to walk the Paramount studio lot to watch a live filming on the set of Disney XD’s Walk The Prank? A definitely fun adventure that I am so excited to share with all of you! Have you seen the show yet? “Walk the Prank” airs Wednesdays at 8:30 pm EST on the Disney XD channel. This show is Recommended for ages 7+.

That’s probably pretty smart to have the punks be setups people know. Things could get ugly with random strangers. 😉
