Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass Movie Review – Family Friendly

Alice Movie Review 2.1

I was able to view Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass in 3D with my bestie a few days ago. I must say it was an experience to remember, I went in after previewing a few of the trailers that Disney has released but was definitely not prepared for the amazing adventure I was about to embark on. In the spirit of the Mad Hatter, hold on to your hat’s because here we go with this honest review of what this mom thought of this amazing adventure of a movie.

Here is a quick trailer below to help you get into the tea party spirit.

Alice Movie Review

In the previews, you are hinted towards an adventure on how to save the Mad Hatter when something terrible happens to him. You don’t really know what it is until you sit in that movie theater seat and put on those 3D glasses. In this adventure, Alice is faced with all too real problems after she comes home from a long 2-year voyage. Alice is ecstatic to talk about her adventures but instead, she is faced with an unspeakable discovery as to what went on while she was away. The main thing Alice repeats in the beginning of this movie is that time isn’t fair, “Time is a thief and a villain.” as she reminisces about her father and her current situation.

Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the whimsical world of Underland in Disney's ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. In the all new adventure Anne Hathaway returns as the White Queen, Matt Lucas is the Tweedles, Stephen Fry is the voice of Chessur, Michael Sheen is the voice of the White Rabbit, Timothy Spall voices Bayard, Paul Whitehouse is the voice of the March Hare and Barbara Windsor is the voice of Dormouse.

It’s not long before Alice finds her way back to Wonderland to find out that the Mad Hatter is ill. It is her job to find his family and help save him. Thus setting Alice off towards a new adventure on how she has to go back in time to find out what happened to the Mad Hatter’s Family. With many flips and flops of how she acquires this ability to do so (sorry I won’t give that away!) she sets off a chain reaction that you must see.

Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the whimsical world of Underland and encounters Iracebeth, the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) in Disney's ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, an all-new adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll's beloved stories.

Something that totally surprised me about this movie was that it took the time to go back and show you the origin of the Queen of Hearts and the White queen. I was totally caught off guard as to where they were going with this story. I have said this to a few people since I have seen the movie but, I gave the movie writers and special effects crew serious props. I let everyone know that if you ever feel like you are lacking any type of imagination, or maybe you want to adventure into the minds of other people’s imagination, you need to see this movie. I truly was blown away at how vivid and vibrant this movie was and was blown away at how far the CGI effects have gone. I’m sure many of you have seen or heard of Disney’s The Jungle Book, which was one of Disney’s latest in CGI movie’s where the entire movie was shot in front of blue and green screens.

Sacha Baron Cohen is Time in Disney's ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, an all new adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll's beloved stories.

As a mom with 4 kids, I feel like this was a well-suited film for them, it has so many funny parts that a child and parent can both laugh at together.I encourage you to take your family on an adventure and see this movie in theaters now. I feel like as a character Alice really grew up in this and the same can be said for anyone watching this film. I felt as though I was reminded that time is not your enemy, it is actually a gift and you should embrace it every second of every day.

At the end of the movie, Alice learns and quotes “I used to think time was a thief. But you give before you take. Time is a gift. Every minute. Every second.” A very powerful qoute might I add.
