Little Movers 2

Hello mom! It’s that time I can see, your little one is on the move! Doesn’t the time go by so fast? It was just yesterday when you brought your bundle of joy home from the hospital. As a mom of four children, I feel like I’ve gotten some of these tips and tricks down pack by now. Although I will admit its fun to learn new ones that make my old ones easier to do. Here is a quick list of things I think every mom will love to read, it’s either a refresher or a great starting point for newbie moms.

Little Movers Shareable

Keep Things out of Reach. A lesson I have learned time and time again through the 10 years of having children, is to keep things out of reach from little hands, especially your purse! I have had many personal things dumped out of my purse in front of complete strangers or family members. I like to keep my purse on a table while I’m in a home or behind my back if I am in a public place with my little one. It’s semi-uncomfortable but it’s worth it when it comes to letting everyone know that aunt flow is visiting this week.

Cars and Balls. I love to set the little mover down on the floor or in the grass with toy cars and toy balls. These things move and encourage my little mover to play and have fun moving, it gives them a lot of fun practice. It creates hours of fun entertainment for them and I love how it keeps them active.

Little Movers 5

No Shoes. Now I know what your thinking, your thinking really mom, really? And the answer is yes, no shoes! at least in the beginning, when they are just grasping their footing keep the shoes off and let them go at it for a while. Once they seem to get their footing ease them into walking in shoes or sandals. I like to keep mine barefoot for a few months and then slowly start to have them wear shoes around the house for practice.

Anything Can Become a Handy Walker. One thing I have learned with new little movers is the fact that anything can become a walker. A little cousin of mine loves to use chairs, she would slide the chair across the floor and use that to get from one side to another. Granted this chair was a child size chair and the room was completely carpeted. If you have a wood or carpet floor you can have your little one use a laundry basket or even an empty box. My girls loved to use empty boxes, they would push it, then get in it and push each other. Then they would switch and use the laundry basket. I would pad the laundry basket with a pillow or two so it was more comfortable for the rider.

Get a Diaper to Move With Your Little Mover. I personally love the Huggies® Little Movers. They stretch and fit my little mover for whatever she wants to get into. I love how they never leak and form to fit my little one’s body to give them the best protection with a SnugFit* waistband and Leak Lock for up to 12 hours of leakage protection.

Yes – definitely keep everything out of reach. They will literally put everything and anything in their mouths.

My boys would push chairs around the house too. Sadly my boys still put things in their mouths at age 8 & 9.

When the kids were still babies/toddlers, I make sure everything that can be potentially harmful are out of their reach. I can definitely attest to all of these suggestions that you have here! It’s tried and tested.

It must be a wonderful feeling when your toddler starts to get up and make his first steps. Of course, you have to be much more alert and follow his steps everywhere, to make sure he is safe.

I totally agree. I keep my new walkers away from shoes or only the soft shoes with no real sole. I think it makes walking so much easier.
