I was born and raised in Reston, Virginia meaning I have seen the town go from a small 2 lane road city to a bustling city that seems to have something going on all year round. When I was a little girl (which wasn’t to long ago might I add) I used to visit our local Reston Zoo. It featured so many great things I had to go back and revisit it with my kids. We went late this summer meaning they were moving things around and adding new features! SO COOL!
We had so much fun and took so many pictures I had to split up my post into 2 parts. Yes there is that many cool things going on at this zoo. This first part of our adventure shows the feeding station where you can feed different kinds of animals. To fee the animals you are given a choice of regular food pellets, a baby bottle full of milk and a bird feeder stick (you will see how that went in the part 2 post). The Zoo had a special where you can get all 3 different kinds of food for a decent price, so I got that for all of the kids.
ALSO! The Reston Zoo will be hosting a Zoo Boo event featuring face painting, trick or treat trails, touch station, and a pumpkin patch tractor ride. I’m pretty sure you can guess who will be attending this event. The Zoo Boo 2015 dates are – October 24th & 25th and October 31st & Nov 1st. Be sure to check back to see what my kids think about this Bootacular event next month.

The kids were so brave and my 2 year old did attempt to feed the baby lambs (those babies were feisty). The big kids were hesitant to feed the animals out of their hands, until they finally built up the courage to give it a try. Their courage was repaid with the animals tickling their hands as they frantically tried to lick the food out of their hands. Okay don’t freak out moms! There was hand sanitizer stations at the front and back of this stable and of course you can bring your own. But hey lets face it, half the fun of being a kid is getting down and dirty.
Part 2 Post COMING VERY SOON! CHECK BACK PLEASE!
