Eating out with my kids can be difficult. I always try to find ways to introduce new meals into their diets that they would otherwise never heard about. The struggle for them is that it’s not what we normally eat or the way it looks or smells isn’t appetizing. I tend to push them atleast once a week to try something new and the results sometimes are surprisingly good! Although some of my kids are more adventurous than the other’s the overall experience we share eating a delicious meal together is priceless.
This week I took them to an entirely new place that we have passed many times but have never actually entered. I decided today was the day we would all experience what On The Border has to offer. Although only one of my 4 minions tried the actual mexican cuisine the others were very happy with what they got. I personally could come here just for the queso and salsa. It is so addictive and best of all when you leave you can ask them to pack you some To Go Tortilla Chips and Salsa FREE of charge! YAY for me!
There was a great selection of food dishes on this menu. I really liked how there were so many combination platter’s where you can pick from a group of specialty foods. There was even a 3 course meal which featured soup, entree and desert! I opted to just get the Mexican Grilled Chicken which I’ve had before and is DELISH! My 2 year old is such a picky eater she was happy with getting some french fries with cheese and some of my chicken. The older bunch decided to get a soft taco, corndog, and a cheeseburger. All were cooked perfectly. Everyone agreed the food was delicious and would like to come back soon! Maybe next time everyone will order taco’s? Who knows! A mom can dream right?
