Pixar Fest is in full swing at Disneyland in California! This wonderful fest of your favorite Pixar characters brings your childhood favorite movies to life. During Pixar Fest, you can find delicious Pixar themed food, shows, new rides and so much more.
Pixar Fest at Disneyland runs from April 13 through September 3rd, making it the Incredible Summer vacation just waiting to happen.
This experience is one of those things you have to have with your whole family. If you are single with no kids this event is still a perfect fit for the kid in you, grab a friend or loved one and head to the park asap!
During the #Incredibles2Event, I had the opportunity to get all the deets on Pixar Fest and shut down the park.
To kick off the event we stopped at the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats for something sweet. The Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats can be found on the NEW Pixar Pier. The full NEW Pixar Pier is open to visitors starting June 23rd. Of the many choices, I had I choose the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait which was amazing and available to purchase today!
The Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait is made of a Non-Dairy Lemon Sorbet with a Blue Raspberry Slushie in the middle and topped with a maraschino cherry. It was so delicious and not overly sweet, big enough to share with the kids or if you are like me perfect for just you.
After my sweet treat from the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, I beat the pants off of my bestie in the Toy Story Midway Mania. I scored 140,000 which was “cute” according to another competitive player who I’m just sure knew I could have beat if we had a rematch.
It wouldn’t truly be a Pixar Fest if you didn’t have the opportunity to snap a few pictures with your Pixar Pals.
I found Disney’s very first and only Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear and his best friend, Woody. These two are so much fun in person, they love snapping pictures and giving salutes to all the Space Rangers in training.
They also take really fun selfies so don’t be shy to ask for a quick selfie with these two.
Before the Pixar Play Parade, a bunch of us went exploring in California Adventure. I got to ride the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout ride for the very first time. It was so worth the wait, half the fun of this ride is walking through the building and seeing all of the fun props.
In order to ride the ride, you must have your hands scanned so make sure you have your hands ready to save the Guardians. After you board get ready to have so much fun you can’t help but scream with joy.
Fun Fact: Different songs play on each ride giving you different ride experiences.
At 5:30 we caught The Pixar Play Parade. The Pixar Play Parade was so must fun! Catch all of your Pixar friends and watch as your favorite friends dance and perform.
Watch out though, you might get squirt with water or worse bubbles will fly your way. It was so cute and perfect for kids of all ages. The kid in me was screaming while the adult me had a smile from ear to ear.
To keep our tummies filled we made our way to Pizza Planet and grubbed on some delicious food. I got the Edamame Noodle Salad and Breadsticks. The Edamame Noodle salad was served as a cold dish, so it was a great way to eat something delicious and cool down at the same time.
Dinner is never truly complete without some dessert of course. I had the honor of being able to try the Grape Soda Cakepop, Alien Macaroon and Pixar Fest Celebration Cake.
I don’t honestly know how I had the ability to bite into the Alien Macaroon but however, I did it I’m happy I did. The macaroon itself is a regular sugar flavored outside with a berry jelly in the middle. I could see my kids devouring these little aliens, only after repeating “The Claw!” over and over again.
I really have to take a moment and pause on this post for this Pixar Fest Celebration Cake. This cake was so delicious and needs to be consumed layer by layer. Each layer is actually a different flavor of cake.
The top layer of the cake is Lemon, the middle is blueberry, and the bottom is red velvet cake. Topped and hugged with cream cheese frosting, this cake is the perfect way to celebrate Pixar Fest. It’s a must try to trust me!
There are many more Pixar Fest foods to snack on in the park as well, at Pizza Planet they are offering a Cheeseburger Pizza, as well as Alien Parfaits.
The Alien Parfait has a whipped cream topping, a berry jelly middle layer with chocolate cake at the bottom. This seemed to fit what the Alien Macaroon flavor combination was, I only wish I could have tasted it myself.
After dinner, we hit the park again and rode tons of rides, Space Mountain being on the top of the list, including the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Which wasn’t supposed to get me wet got me basically soaked, by the way, it was awesome! I’ve never screamed and laughed this hard on a roller coaster before.
Spoiler alert, the first few moments on the ride you encounter a yeti who is ready to break through the ice and steal your Mickey Ears. It’s PG though don’t worry, I was prepared and it totally didn’t get me as we shot down the mountain with fun twists and turns.
As the sun sets and the light begins to fade, the last spectacular thing you can enjoy during the Pixar Fest. The Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular is fireworks show combined with beautiful visuals projected onto the Cinderella’s Castle.
It’s almost indescribable as it takes your breath away with snippets of Pixar movies and songs. It’s similar to The World of Color show except this has fireworks and the picture is projected onto the castle. I about lost it when I saw the Coco Scene where Miguel strum his guitar and then the Marigold Petals flew up in the air. Ah, I loved it.
Video coming soon!
Here are a few snippets of the show that I just know you will want to wait around in the park to catch. Since the group I was with were shutting down the park, our Pixar Fest adventure did not end at the Together Forever Spectacular.
We ran and rode a few more roller coaster rides one more time, and then made our way to the front gates.
My feet were screaming, my back had had it for the night but it was all worth it. I spent 10 hours in Disneyland and would do it over and over again. Pixar Fest was a blast and I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic about the many Pixar movies that were highlighted in this event.
I highly recommend you spend and Incredible Summer at Disneyland for the Pixar Fest. Pixar Fest has something for everyone to enjoy! For more information about Pixar Fest head over here.
