I was recently given the opportunity to review the entire line of Spike Gourmet Seasonings. There were so classic seasonings and also some new and interesting ones. I used a few to create this awesome Spike Seasoning Fried Chicken Recipe. My kiddos loved it and I’m already been asked to make this weekly for them lol.
-2lbs of chicken (you can use wings, legs, breasts or thighs)
-Spike’s Lemon Pepper
-Spikes 5 Herb
– Spikes Garlic
-A Big bowl or pan to marinate the chicken
-Peanut Oil (or any other oil you prefer to use)
-2 Plastic bags or a big Container with or without a lid
1.) Spread your chicken on a cooking pan or big container
2.) Layer all of these Spikes seasonings on the chicken as listed below
3.) Flip chicken and repeat season layering.
4.) Let the meat marinate for atleast 2 hours (for better flavoring marinate for 1-2 Days)
5.) When Ready to cook, Take 2 Plastic bags (put one inside the other) Or get your Big Container with or without the lid
6.) Combine 1 Cup of Flour and 1 Cup of Panko breading and mix well.
7.) Add the Spikes Garlic, Onion and Lemon Pepper to the flour/panko mix you made in step 6
7.) Throw in your chicken (as much that can fit in your plastic bags or container) and close the plastic bags or put the lid on your container (if you have no lid simply hand stir around the chicken) Shake your chicken until the whole chicken is covered with the breading mix.
8.) Heat 6 cups of Peanut Oil (or your choice of oil) in a large pot or deep fryer
9.) When oil is hot throw in your chicken and let it cook until the skin is brown and crispy
**Please note if the chicken is large you will need to cook it for atleast 20-35 minutes per batch, please remember to poke your chicken with a fork or toothpick to see if the middle is done. If it isn’t done, toss it back in the breading mix and throw it back in the hot oil.**
Serve with Mac N Cheese or with some Home made Sweet Potato Fries!
