The Smoke Pit | Concord – NC
Just a few minutes from the Great Wolf Lodge we found this off the beaten path The Smoke Pit restaurant. In less than a year, the Smoke Pit has been named the best restaurant in Cabarrus County, with a customer base that exploded from a simple 30 people a day to 700 people a day since it opened its doors in December of 2014.
Address: 796 Concord Pkwy N. Concord, NC 28027
This family-friendly restaurant is a great place to go for some amazing BBQ that won’t put a hole in your wallet. Located directly next door you can find their very own market which you can purchase any of the meats they use in the restaurant. Along with many other food offerings, this little market has everything you need to make a delicious meal.
With so many delicious options to choose from, it was a no-brainer we got the family sized combo platter. Their fresh and never frozen slow cook method is what this mom can get on board with.
Just a tip when ordering your food, grab some extra cornbread, Malik loved it and devoured it only 2 minutes into receiving our tray.
Hands down this are some amazing BBQ, the pulled pork was out of this world and no I did not share. Okay, I lied I let the kids try it and then I devoured it all by myself. While the pulled pork was my favorite the girls and Anthony went head first into the BBQ chicken wings.
While Malik devoured the brisket and cornbread, the platter had everything we needed and we customized it to fit our needs.
The Smoke Pit is a must visit while in Cabarrus County, especially when you have a Large Hungry Family. Definitely, plan to stop here and share a platter with your loved ones. Thankfully we came at an odd hour so we didn’t have to wait in line for our food.
Which is a tip I like to give out to large families, which is come at in between lunch and dinner hours so your large group will have ample seating and the service is quick and friendly.
Like almost everywhere we went to North Carolina the locals are wonderfully friendly, and the atmosphere is slow moving and relaxing. My kids loved coming here during our Visit Cabarrus Adventure in North Carolina.
