Homemade HoneyComb Pop Tarts

  • 2 Rolls of Premade Pie Crust or make your own dough from scratch, will yield much more dough for use if made from scratch
  • Post Honeycomb Cereal
  • Apple Butter Jam
  • Chocolate Spread
  • Chocolate chips
  • Marshmallows
  • 1 Egg
  • Fork
  • Glaze:
  • 4 Tablespoons of Confectionate Sugar
  • 1-2 Tablespoon's of Milk
  • 1 Tsp. of Vanilla Extract

  1. Heat Oven To 350 Degrees.
  2. Roll out the dough and cut into Smooth Half Rectangles about 3×5 inches big. Beat egg and then brush over the sides of the rectangles.
  3. Drop 1-2 Tablespoons of the apple butter or chocolate filling into 1 half of the rectangles. Put the other half of the rectangle over top of that first one and press lighting on the sides.
  4. Using a fork lighting press down to help seal the rectangles together. Then lightly poke 6 holes in the middle of the rectangles (as shown in the photos below).
  5. Brush the egg over top of the finished pop tarts and then stick them in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are nicely golden brown.
  6. While the pop tarts are cooking in the oven start working on the vanilla glaze. In a small mixing bowl mix together the Confectioners sugar, milk and vanilla extract and set aside.

  7. Once the pop tarts are golden brown remove them from the oven and set on the counter to cool till they are just warm to the touch.
  8. Apply 1-2 spoon fulls of the vanilla glaze on top and then start to add the most delicious part of the recipe.
  9. Sprinkle on Post Honeycomb Cereal on top of the apple butter pop tarts, as well as the smores. Add on as much chocolate chips and marshmallows to the smores as you please.

  10. Let cool completely and then store in zip lock bags for the kids to grab and go in the morning.
