Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania is well known their roller coasters and iconic chocolate characters who greet you throughout the park. Some people may not know that this park is just as hopping as it is during the day and during the summer as it is at night around Christmas time. I’m sure some would think well it’s cold how could and dark how could I have fun? Well, I’m here to show you the fun things you can do and ways you can keep warm with your family during a trip At Night in Hershey Park and a few other destinations very close to the park.
Enjoy the Light Show In The Park. Take a walk around the park and enjoy the beautiful light show, you can find beautiful decorations all over the park. The Christmas trees are lit up with iconic Christmas song’s playing in the background. The Christmas tree’s dance to the music as the light blinks to the songs, it’s a ton of fun to see them change colors and dance to the music like I do. I highly recommend you take a ride on the ski lift to see it up close and personal, the ride is so much fun
Say Hello To Santa and His Reindeer. Get your list ready and check it twice before a sweet visit with the jolly one himself, Santa Claus. And, meet his 9 live reindeer, including the fan favorite – Rudolph! Plus, make sure to reserve a meal to mingle with Kris Kringle! The reindeer are so beautiful and big! The caretakers also teach you about the individual reindeer’s and share fun facts about them.
Snag a Christmas Themed King Size Shake. Snag this seasonal King Size Shake that embodies the spirit of Christmas in it’s over the top treats and delicious size. This is enough for up to 4 people to share, but hey who would want to share one of these bad boys? This shake is only available at Hershey Park and will only be around for this season, so make sure you run in and snag one for you and your family today.
Ride Some Roller Coasters. Enjoy rides on five of our favorite coasters: Cocoa Cruiser, sooperdooperLooper, Wildcat, Wild Mouse, and Laff Trakk which – new this year – is decking its halls with Christmas-themed décor in the spirit of the holiday season! The Laff Trakk is an indoor roller coaster that you can’t help but laugh throughout the entire ride. It was completely contagious and had me crying tears of joy at the end.
Catch A Stage Play. There are theaters around the park that you can catch a stage play with the family. The plays differ and the times differ so make sure you grab a map and guide when you enter the park so you can plan out your day accordingly. Not to mention it is a great way for the kids to stay warm as they catch a live action play of a familiar or not so familiar story.
Go Ice Skating. Take the family on a fun trip to the ice skating rink and let the kids skate as they look at the beautiful lights and listen to Christmas music.
Head Over To Chocolate World. Chocolate world is connected to Hershey Park making your trip there as simple as can be. Just make sure you get your stamp so you can enter back into the Park gates when you are done with your next chocolate adventure. Chocolate World is home to the Hershey’s Largest Candy Store, when you see it in person you will know why. Explore the many wonders of chocolate at the first Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction located in Chocolatetown, USA – Hershey, Pennsylvania! Treat yourself to an assortment of one-of-kind experiences and discover the sweetest feeling of pure happiness. Plan your chocolate adventure today!
Make Your Own Candy Bar. Become a master candy maker and create your very own candy bar in a real candy factory. The process is digital where you are able to choose which type of chocolate you want and then three ingredients to fill it with which you will have seasonal offerings to pick from. Next, you will have the option to pick a topping on top of that chocolate bar, and then it’s off to be created.
While the chocolate bar moves from one station to the other you are able to enjoy watching the entire process from behind a clear glass. After the bar has made it to the cooling stage you can then start to design your own wrapper. There are premade designs as well as options to make it any way you would like. The final result is spectacular and one of a kind in every way.
Attend The Zoo Behind The Scenes After Dark Experience. If feeding bears and holding owls excite’s you, then you need to attend a Zoo After Dark visit at the Hershey Zoo America. You will get a one on one experience with animals which includes holding them and feeding them. I can now say I have checked getting a kiss from a bear off my bucket list because of this trip.
It was so much fun and I learned so much about the animals and the Zoo itself. I learned that The Hotel Hershey gives the zoo their scraps such as meat trimmings, bread, fish heads and tails and so much more of which would normally go to the landfill. in fact going straight to the animals, which means the animals eat well and eat mostly organic.
Take A Drive Through Sweet Lights. Treat your eyes to a festive light display wrapping on for more than 2 miles – all from the comfort of your car! It’s the brightest way to get in the holiday spirit! Sip on some Hershey’s Hot Chocolate and try to count how many reindeer there are throughout the entire display.
Attend A Bear’s Hockey Game at the Giant Center. Being a sports lover of many different sports I was more than excited to finally be able to attend my very first Hockey game at the Hershey Giant Center. The bears were playing and of course, it was loud and full of edge of the seat puck passes. I couldn’t help but become invested in the game and also the wave that came around a few times before it died out. Might I add the food we were served during the game was so delicious!
Hot Chocolate and Pajama’s at The Hershey Lodge. If you have booked a room in the Hershey’s Lodge you will find that there are so many things to do at night in this Lodge. Such as cuddling up next to the fire in the Hershey Lodge for a night of Hershey’s hot chocolate in your pajama’s. Sit by the fire and catch up with loved ones and friends as the night comes to a close. It’s so relaxing to sit in front of the fire at night reflecting on the day you just had.
