Banana Berry Zinger Smoothie
I think the best thing about Summer is the fact that it’s officially Smoothie Season! I am a smoothie girl and love to drink all types of smoothies. Today I am sharing a new recipe made with Celestial Seasonings Herbal Teas.
I’m a big fan of this brand and love to mix and match the tea’s to make sensational smoothies. Celestial teas are a flavorful 0 calorie, 0 sugar tea, that taste great iced! Unlike plain teas, Celestial is a more flavorful tea that does not require any sweetening! The perfect refreshing drink for all summer festivities.
Recently another Gymnastics mom hipped me to a new recipe I should try. I will admit when it comes to tea smoothies I tend to lean towards the more sweeter fruits. However, this mom assured me I had to try this version.
I will admit that I added a banana to her original recommendation and if she’s reading this post now Sorry! I had to do it! Long story short a few of us mom’s were discussing our craziest pregnancy cravings. One of the moms said out of nowhere she HAD to eat bananas all day long. Since then she hasn’t touched a banana and dispises the smell.
The mom who recommended this recipe to me said she tends to lean away from the sweeter fruits when she makes smoothies. But of course, by all means, recommended I try it with her recipe idea. I am happy to report it tastes amazing and will surely put a spin on your next smoothie date.
The girls LOVED this new recipe, I adjusted their smoothies to add a cup of yogurt in place of my almond milk. Let me tell you how that made all of the difference in the thickness of this smoothie. I highly recommend those who aren’t lactose intolerant like myself, to use the yogurt.
Of course, if you are lactose intolerant and would like to add that thickness, simply use your favorite lactose-free yogurt brand. Trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed!
For this recipe, I opted to use the Raspberry Zinger Tea from Celestial Seasonings. It truly did give this recipe that ZING I was looking for! I found this delicious tea and other delicious tea options at my local Walmart.
I challenge you to head to your local Walmart and grab a few Celestial Seasonings tea’s that you can add to your next smoothie. You will be surprised at how many different types of smoothies you can create using a tea-based ingredient.
