Summer Beach Sundae Party + Printables
I have always wanted to have a neighbor that I could just waltz over and say hello to. On top of that, I have always wanted a neighbor who had kids the around the same age as mine. Just a few short years ago I was blessed with a new neighbor who was not only a Filipina like me but had two children around the same age as my girls.
I’m sure you are thinking what is so significant about having a Filipina neighbor, well I guess I can bluntly say “the food” of course. As well as the many inside jokes we share together now, that only we can chuckle at in the corner. I am sure we look insane laughing at Tita vs. Tita Videos but you know what, they are hilarious.
My neighbor Kayinee hosts Splash Days at her house, where the kids can come over and get wet to beat the heat. Somehow us Virginia residents seem to have completely skipped Spring and have moved straight into that wonderful hot and humid summer weather. Thanks to Kayinee my kids can join in with her kids and splash each other till the sun disappears behind the trees.
To say thank you to Kaiynee for putting up with us I threw a fun Beach Themed Sundae Party. The kids were able to build their own sundae’s and create some fun combinations. After a quick workout with my friend Stephanie, we headed over to Kaiynee’s house to get the table set up.
We used some fun printables to write the names of each ingredient the kids could choose from. This made it easier for them to understand what was in the cups since before we pointed out the labels we got all kinds of “What’s This?” questions.
As the kids took a break from jumping on the trampoline and squirting each other with the garden hose we got to see just how adventurous their taste buds were. Esuun and Gabe wanted to try and guess each of the flavors of the new MIKE AND IKE Mega Mix Sour Candy without looking at the box. Surprisingly the kids got each flavor right and ended up eating the whole box during the experiment.
By the way, if you didn’t already know MIKE and IKE have launched their very own Mega Mix Sour Candy line that has my kids going crazy. There are 10 different flavors that are a punch in the mouth of sour then oh so sweet in the middle.
Esuun hasn’t stopped talking about how good they are and how she loved topping her sundae with them. They are now available at a Walmart store near you!
The best thing about this Beach Themed Sundae Party is, there is no sand! So that means you don’t have to drive home with sand between your toes in your favorite pair of sandals. As well as worry about all that pesky mess you normally have to clean up after a fun day at the beach.
Also since everyone loves bubbles, there were many opportunities for the kids to grab a bottle and make it rain bubbles. Even little Miriam got involved and tried to blow some fun scented bubbles with her mom.
