Game Day With Progresso Chili – Sliders and More!

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have been Redskins Fans. When I was little Sundays were filled with cheers and boos from my huge family. Although at times we would watch the game separately, there wasn’t anything like when we all came together to watch it as a family.

Thanksgiving mainly was the best time, since there was always so much food to go around because of the holiday. Since most of the time we watched the game separately we all started to find our own ways of making game day snacks and treats for the kids and grownups. What’s a game day without Chilli?

New Stew Flavors

Times have changed and everyone’s preferences have as well, whenever I am looking for a quick game day fix I turn to Progresso’s NEW Stew’s for a #ProgressoGameDay treat. With 5 different kinds of stews available, I’m able to fit anyone’s preference.

I myself LOVE the Roasted Vegetable Chili with 3 Beans, but my kids love the Smokehouse Pork and Beef Chili with Beans. Whenever I want to prepare for the big game day, I just pop a few bags of the Chili in the crockpot and let it simmer as I get other tasks done.

New Progresso Stew Flavors

New Progresso Roasted Vegetable Chili with 3 Beans is a meat-free option that includes tomatoes, carrots, roasted corn, red and green bell, and poblano peppers and onions; and pinto, black and dark red kidney beans. The other two flavors available include Smokehouse Pork and Beef Chili with Beans and Southwest Style White Chicken Chili with Beans.

You don’t have to use a crockpot, you can cook this over the stove or even in the microwave. I chose the crockpot because it allowed me to move around and get other foods ready as it warmed up. This was actually a great option for me since it would keep it’s self-warm as everyone made their bowls in our traditional chili bar line. I mean who doesn’t love a classic Chili Bar line?

Add Fresh Toppings To Chili

To put a yummy spin on my chili I added some fresh avocados, as well as freshly shredded cheese. If you are like me and lactose intolerant, then sub out the regular cheese for a lactose-free option. Thanks, sis for hipping me to this new line, I feel like I can have my cheese and eat it too now lol.

Game Day With Progresso Chili – Sliders and More!

This recipe is my kid’s absolute favorite! I tend to use whatever slider bread is on sale that week but Hawaiian rolls are our favorite. I add grilled chicken to the bottom of the sliders and then top it with maple bacon.

Yes, I said maple bacon, it’s AMAZING in this recipe. Then I top it with however much my kids want of chili. Sometimes they say “Keep it coming!” Other times they say just a dollop please mom.

The Best Game Day Snack Ideas!

However, they choose to eat their chili it’s always with a smile on their face. I’m happy to share these memories with the kids, basically reliving my childhood memories of gameday with my huge family.

It’s those types of moments that make you feel wonderful inside when you have good food and good company. Which recipe would you use? OR What’s your favorite way to enjoy chili on game day?
