Pumpkin Spice Milkshake
When pumpkin spice season rolls out, I am on top of all things pumpkin. This pumpkin milkshake is at the top of the list. My children love these shakes, and it is so simple to make and saves me a ton of money than going to our favorite ice cream shop for one!
Just like my pumpkin spice rolls, it makes for the perfect dessert to get you in the fall spirit! Plus, who really can turn down a milkshake? Let alone a pumpkin shake at that? I know no one in our family could!
Quick and Easy Pumpkin Spice Milkshake
Here is a secret tip I share with all the parents out there! I struggle at times getting my kids to eat the right foods to gain the nutrients they need. Yes, they take vitamins, but when I can I try to sneak in fruits and veggies to help fuel their growing bodies.
One way I use pumpkin puree is in milkshakes. You are still gaining the benefits from the pumpkin puree even if it is in dessert form and with a scoop or two of ice cream!
From being packed full of nutrients in vitamins, pumpkin is terrific for cholesterol, blood sugar, and more. I try to use it when I can use in recipes from savory to sweet. This pumpkin milkshake recipe fits the bill on sneaking in some pumpkin benefits in a fresh and tasty way.
Getting The Right Consistency For Your Pumpkin Spice Milkshake
It takes practice to find what type of consistency you want with your shakes. Some people prefer a little thicker consistency while others like more liquidy so you can drink through a straw with ease.
Here are a few tips to help you get the consistency you desire. Because there is no wrong or right way to make a milkshake in my books!
Thicker | If you want a thicker shake, then reduce the liquid in the recipe. Then slowly add the liquid little by little until you get the correct thickness. Say you add too much liquid, and you want it to be a bit thicker, add in more ice cream to add more texture to the shake.
Thin | For thin liquid is the selling point. Slowly add in more liquid a tablespoon at a time once you added in the right amount from the recipe before that. Then you can slowly work towards the thin pumpkin shake. If you get it too thin, then toss in a bit more ice cream to get it back to a thicker consistency.
Just like a smoothie, it takes trial and error. Make the shake to fit your liking, and enjoy!
